What Alan Menken told us…

Alan Menken wrote us a lovely note about staging his beloved “Kurt Vonnegut’s God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater!” And I quote:
Dear friends at the Ann Arbor Civic Theater –
Your production of GOD BLESS YOU MR ROSEWATER is very important to me for a number of reasons:
1 – This musical was my first collaboration with Howard Ashman.
2 – There have been very few productions of ROSEWATER in the 32 years since we first wrote and mounted it in New York in 1979, mainly because there was never an original cast album recorded at that time.
3 – With the recent passing of Kurt Vonnegut, who now joins Howard on the other side, you now have 2 guardian angels looking over your work.
4 – I love Ann Arbor and am so excited that people there can experience this early work of mine.
Have a great time with our musical!
